We spent a couple more days just hanging out around Patzcuaro.
When Lowe gets a plate of tacos in front of him he always asks me or Ali what I consider to be about the cutest question in the world, “Can you tie a knot in my taco?” He needs the bottom folded over so he doesn’t loose his meat when he takes a bite.
The kids grabbed the camera and took a few shots.
Goofy-footed on a skateboard, regular on the surf.
For the weekend we decided to leave the Airstream behind and take a little road trip to Uruapan, where we could bounce around and see a few different things.
Tingambato was along the way.
Then it was on to Uruapan. The center of the avocado universe. When Ouest eats a bowl of guacamole with a spoon, this is where it begins its life. It’s a bustling city with not a single gringo in it, as far as I can tell. The town is interesting to walk around for a while, but it’s a bit of a depressing place. We never linger long here. It’s just a good jumping off point to the things we want to see in the area.
All the good stuff sold out, apparently. But that wouldn’t stop my kids from wiggling the handle and flipping the door open.
It’s a tale as old as time.

I’m interested In your newsletter but need to wait until this coming fall. We’ll be sailing in the Salish sea until October without dependable internet. I look forward to subscribing in October!
Great, Diane. Be happy to have you back. Enjoy the cruising!
I’m interested as well, Pat, but I’m just wrapping up the purchase of a new (to me) RV and getting it sited. From there, it’s a matter of getting reliable interwebz. It shouldn’t be too much longer (I hope.) Save a place for TaoJones among your Wanderers, please. Thanks.
TJ
Cool, Tao, you’re always welcome. Be happy to have you. Congrats on the RV. Maybe we’ll cross paths this year—it’s been a while now.
