Sick Boat

Ouest started acting weird at breakfast and we could tell she was sick. “Me not sick, me not sick.” She insisted she felt okay and was adamant that she wanted to go to the playground as usual. So off we all went down the dock. About ten slips down she stopped short and projectile vomited. She then proceeded to cry all the way back to the boat. Not because she was sick, but because we wouldn’t let her go to the park. Telling a kid they should “take it easy” is like telling a crack addict they should take a day off the pipe.

She spent the day in bed with Ali tending her while I kept Lowe entertained. He seemed fine throughout the day. Later in the afternoon I took him for a walk around town. After just a few blocks he tired out and climbed into the stroller. We walked around town a bit and he fell asleep. When I got him home we went inside where he promptly threw up on the floor.

Two puking sick kids. Good Friday indeed. This is why I’m not the religious type.

This should make for an interesting night.

  1. I often wonder for people travelling if there is much problem with water and food sources, especially with the kiddies. We have 8 grandkids and wonder how they would handing those challenges.

    1. Yeah, it’s hard to say. I don’t think our kids get sick any more often than a kid in the States. The difference is that instead of flus and colds they get bacterial infections. Sometimes we’re able to blame the food or water, but truthfully we never really know for sure what it is that got them.

  2. Wishing your wee one’s a speedy recovery…… and a well deserved trip to the playground….. Hugs to you all…… Eric in KC

  3. Well that certainly exhibits extreme suction! At least they were not all excited about Easter baskets. My favorite deity btw. I’m a sucker for the one that doesn’t require good behavior, a tooth, or a letter to the North Pole. Black jelly beans. That’s the bribe that works for me! Tried to make you smile, if you aren’t barfing by now. Grammy is stepping into a hornets nest.

    Love you guys,
    Magic

    1. I’m with you on the black jelly beans. I try to distance myself from people who don’t like black licorice. There is something wrong there.

  4. I guess the silver lining is they will be fit as fiddles by the time Grammy arrives! When my kiddos were sick, I just thought about the antibodies they were building! I do hope they are well soon and you and Ali don’t get it! Thanks again for your posts~

  5. Pat, I keep coming back to this post to look at your photo of the skiff. Gorgeous. Excellent composition. Like a painting by one of the masters. It’s very soothing. 🙂
