Sedona Monsoon

My mom has had a handful of joint replacements this past year or two, so she doesn’t get out on the trails with us right now, but for the most part we were all content to just hang out around the property and enjoy the views and each other’s company. The place we rented had 3 acres of land, and a forest for a backyard, so there was plenty of roaming for the kids, a spot to set up some cans for the BB gun, and a good grocery five minutes away for us to get our dinner menu together each day. All in all a pretty nice setup for our small group.

Right handed, left handed, either way I’ll shoot the wings off a fly from fifty feet with that Red Ryder.

This hairy little tarantula was sitting right next to Lowe as we got ready for a bonfire one night. He wasn’t very welcome. You’ll never guess whose job it was to relocate him to the farthest corner of the property.

Nice little climb up on Bell Rock. Never did find a proper path, so we just climbed around for a while and took in the view.

It is monsoon season after all. Never lasted long, but it was cool to watch, and listen, to the thunderstorms roll across us.

  1. What a fabulous way to enjoy a family visit! You always seem to find the best rentals. Is there a secret? Kids are growing like weeds. Love that pic with Lowe towering over Ali!

  2. Pat, if you had happened to be on a flight from Chicago to Virginia on Sunday, I was sitting next to you. If not, you have another look alike.

  3. If you ever give up this blog I will be very disappointed. I’m so vested in watching your children grow up that it will eat at me not knowing where they go in life with this life education they are getting.
