Someone is getting far too comfortable with us. When we’re out on the beach in the afternoon Lowe likes to eat fish-on-a-stick. Local sellers walk up and down the beach with fish and shrimp kabobs, and Lowe has taken a particular liking to it. But he also likes to save a couple of bites for the campground cats. And now, this is what we get.

The guy that chops the cocos out of the trees here at the campground is also very accommodating to the little kids that ask him to cut open cocos for them.

We had a few straight days of really big surf that kept us out of the water to the point that the kids could hardly even go for a swim in the shallows. The past couple of days things have calmed down again. Ouest will have to wait a little longer before hitting the double-overhead sets.

The kids think this bridge is the most brilliant thing ever. They get upset when we take the real bridge a block up the street.

  1. Good to have that fire extinguisher there… That water heater is ready for orbit! Is I was a cat I’d move in with you too.

  2. Patrick

Where are located in saulit I am La Penita RV park down the road. been following since 2007.

  3. Love the story about the cat. We were in LaCruz last year and a dock cat named “ms. kitty” adopted us and was a total smoosher for tasty snacks. Like visiting your RV, she invited herself onto our catamaran every evening! Smart cats down here…

  4. As my mother always said, “Never feed a cat.” I’ve found that advice applies to many things in life :). Enjoy your colorful photos!

  5. My mother was just saying, don’t feed a cat unless you are going to care for it for its lifetime. I was joking by saying I’ve applied that in life to other things. Wow first time I was brave enough to post a comment at all…. I truly enjoy following the Bums — and seeing the beautiful photos bring their stories to life.

    1. Thanks, Lisa, I understood perfectly. 😉 I would say never feed a cat as well, but nobody would listen to me anyway.

  6. I just love those Day of the Dead figures – what size are they and how much, do you know? They look like authentic folk art.

    1. I’m not sure what the price is. These are all over Mexico, but I thought these particular ones looked pretty nice. About 12-18″ I suppose. Next time I’m in town I’ll take a look at price.

  7. With what happened to those Australians do you still think it is safe traveling through Mexico in an RV

  8. No, don’t let the cats in…. We’ve got two in the camper, they are entertaining, but… Worse than taking them along, barfing and climbing on you at night, is if they get loose. We’d have to stay in that spot and search for days. How about a puppy!
