Ready to move on again. We’ve spent a week here in the marina, done a wee bit of boat work, all of our laundry, bought a few groceries, spent some time bumming around town, and now we’re ready to get back out on the water. Ali’s a little nervous about what a two hundred mile overnight passage is going to be like with the kids, and with good reason I suppose. Fortunately the weather is looking quite nice and should be an easy motorsail into light prevailing winds. We’ll see.
We met up with a Bum friend today and came away understanding why people with kids tend to hang out with other people who have kids. Not because of anything the non-kid people do, but because we spend half our time running out in the middle of conversations to fetch a little girl riding away on her bike, or needing to go to the bathroom three times in half an hour, or feed a baby. Watching us must be like watching two tennis matches at the same time while also trying to talk to two of the players from the sideline. Exhausting and unfulfilling. Anyway, we enjoyed our friend’s company as well as the pizza and beer. Thanks.
