Note: If you’re in the Portland area, we’re having a little get together/bus open house at 2:00 Sunday. Hopworks on SE Powell.
This is nothing new, just a re-split of an old scar. There’s something natural about a boy and a bloody cut—you know that each cut is just one of thousands that he’ll experience in life. I’ve had a couple myself this week.
Lowe fell asleep on my lap that night during story time. That’s a first for him. I remember Ouest doing it a couple of times around his age, but now, never. Instead she is the one saying, “Papa. Papa!” as I drift away at the end of a page. Honestly, I don’t know how they stay awake. If I wasn’t doing the reading I’d be asleep by page three of the first book every night, with no care at all that it was only seven o’clock.
The next five pictures were taken by either Lowe or Ouest. They do pretty good with the little 50mm lens on the camera. It focuses fast, and it’s light.
We hit the Mississippi Street Fair today. Good time. Lots of fun, friendly, funky Portlanders serving up good food, drink, and art.

No High Fives!!! Absurd! That is just un-American… Love all the colors in your shots. those kids have got to be the luckiest kids in Portland. Good job letting them experiment behind the lens.
Enjoy the open house.
Safe travels

I like the white picket fence shot on Mississippi street – echoes of Tom Sawyer. Cheers from Memphis.
When we were in Portland last year, we really enjoyed the Saturday Market (under the bridge).
We both fell in love with Portland and would consider living there when we are done with our sailing adventure.

Dayum, I am afraid Ouest and Lowe take better photos than me. That’s harsh.
You guys are such awesome parents, youd dead
right buddy, scars on a boy is what makes him a boy!
So long as he doesn’t hurt himself that much, he’s a lad.

Sounds like Mr. Lowe is gearing up for a growth spurt. My son will have these kinds of heavier-than-usual sleep patterns, then he’ll shoot up a couple of inches in what seems like a couple of days.
