Pedaling away on a bike. Remember that sudden sense of freedom? Lowe tasted it today. I had taken Ouest and Lowe for a bike ride around the neighborhood when he asked me if he could try “Da’s bike” again. When we got back to the bus I grabbed the wrench and we lowered the seat. Within a couple of minutes he had it nailed down, riding alone, concentrating with all his might on spinning those pedals around.
Later, after Ouest and Ali had gone back to the bus, we continued going up and down the street. The pride was evident in his face. Then, completely out of the blue—smiling—he said while riding past me, “I love you, Papa.” I tried to burn that moment into my memory.

Yay, Lowe, Lowe!
Awesome! But where did his shorts go? Oh, he must have wanted to put something in the basket.
The more appropriate question is, “What is he doing wearing shorts?” He is always in his underwear.
He definitely needs a new bike with flames on the side!
Stay tuned.
He is a natural, ride on!
Excellent Lowe!
Nice turns! Reminds me of when Jolea taught Jeff she chased after him yelling “pedal, pedal, pedal, pedal…”
Don’t you think if we had a choice we’d all be in our underwear? Like your style, Lowe! Shorts just get in the way of the pedaling…
A huge moment for Lowe! Congrats!
Wonderful job Lowe! Best turns ever!
He looks so proud of himself! I love your kids (and your blog!)
