We piled into a rental van with our friends and headed down the road a bit to Litchfield National Park. We’d come here 20 years ago with Ali’s sister, Katy, when she visited. It was a great day out then, and a great day out now. Everything seems so dry and hot in Australia, but looking closer you find that it’s actually full of these incredible green lands and flowing fresh water. It’s unbelievably refreshing and mostly croc free, though occasionally one slips past the rangers and makes its way to the swimming holes.
The magnetic termite mounds. Read about these little creatures and be amazed by their construction skills. The mounds are built so the thin edges point north to south and keep the sun’s heat minimized throughout the day.
There may or may not have been a no jumping sign. That may or may not be my daughter at the top middle of the picture jumping off the cliff.
And that looks suspiciously like Lowe.
You just knew we’d find a BBQ.
It hasn’t rained a drop in Darwin since we arrived. I have no idea where all this water comes from.
Just a great day out. Litchfield beats a waterpark any day.

I was wondering when you would get some pictures of Oz’s famous spiders.
