Feeling a little guilty as this most certainly hasn’t been my mom’s most exciting visit to see us. We’re still just sort of waking from our funk.
I’ve gotten over to the boat a couple of times to mess around with the engine mounts. Today I borrowed an angle grinder and got the busted one’s bolt sawed off and ready to be removed. Tomorrow I’ll wedge a 2×4 into place to make sure the engine doesn’t drop at all when I pull that mount, and will hopefully be able to get rolling on them from there.
Drove out to Balandra Beach this morning where we found the wind howling. I got out of the car with the kids and within seconds they were both crying and clutching at their sand filled eyes. I got them to laugh again by pretending that I couldn’t get back to the car because the wind was blowing me so hard. I’m an awesome mime.

Glad to hear the kids are back on their feet. Its not healthy to be sick. The front motor mounts for my boat are different than the rear mounts. I noticed in the picture your mounts are all numbered the same. Also check the alignment between the shaft and transmission plates when you put it all back together.
All the mounts are the same on this engine. And yes, I’ve been told repeatedly to check the shaft alignment. Hopefully I’ll reach that point eventually. Thanks.
I would bet my last dollar, that your mom is just happy to be with you, Ali and especially the grandkids! She just radiates beauty and patience. I feel for Ouest! I remember when my yaya would leave. Know nothing about motors, but will be sending lots of good thoughts all goes smoothly. I do believe you are due for a well behaved repair. Good luck.
