One nice thing about Mazatlan is their bus service. It’s super easy to get anywhere we need to go, and today we needed to go back to the playground. Both of the kids needed the exercise, especially Lowe, who we are having the hardest time finding non-concrete places to crawl around for.
We played there for a while then walked down the street to a taqueria for lunner. The place was empty but the food was good. When we got the check I wondered how much longer I’d be able to feed my family for eight bucks. After that we grabbed a huge licuado con leche with melon and banana, a personal favorite of both Ouest and I, and a small loaf of banana bread. Ouest ate all of this, and when we walked in the door of the boat announced she was hungry. Fortunately we had leftover spaghetti to stuff her full of. I swear this girl will go two or three days eating nothing but a couple of mangos and then day three hits and she suddenly can’t get enough food.
Ali and I both broke flip-flops yesterday. She, of course, being a girl, had extras. Me? I had to buy a pair from the grocery store for twenty pesos. That’s a buck-fifty. I look like a schmuck, but when I tried to wear my Converse it wasn’t ten minutes before my heels were blistering up. This is what happens with this lifestyle; tough soles, baby skin heels.
