Seems a little strange to be heading out to cross the Sea at the same time a hurricane is whipping things around down in Acapulco. But we set out this morning nonetheless. Spent the day motoring in either very light winds or moderately strong winds right on the nose. This was through the Cerralvo Channel though and is pretty much to be expected as the wind get funneled through there.
Once we broke out the wind gradually shifted around and the seas flattened. We’re motorsailing through the night now with a star filled moonless sky. Everything feels damp, like it usually does after being at sea for a few days, but not how it should feel after a good cleaning. Something about the night air here.
I think we made it eight hours today before Ali said, “I’m ready to be there.” The kids though didn’t seem to mind one bit. It’s kind of amazing really that they don’t think anything of the fact that their little home is floating across an ocean and they can’t get off.
