Family in Florida

The daily routine here usually includes a trip to a nearby beach along the Tolomato River, if not out to the ocean beaches.

They like to jump into the middle of the river and ride the current. Ali just shakes her head in disbelief of their bravery.

On one of our early morning excursions we visited the Castillo de San Marcos from the water.

Then Ali’s mom and sisters showed up.

It’s always fun to show off the boat to non-boat people. They are always surprised by how nice, and big, and homey it is. At first none of them realized there was a second bedroom up front, as well as a second bathroom. Yeah, two bed, two bath, split-level home situated on a lot approximately 3/4 of the earth’s surface in size.

  1. We took the kids to Lake Mead one year in August to watch the meteor shower. We were out there at 2am and threw the kids in the water. We had a blast just laying back and watching the show.

  2. Seeing you cockpit with the duel controls for gear and throttle reminds me of making that set up a new one Magic and how much easier it adequate parking compared to the “two lever” style. Have you practiced maneuvers? Twin screws and great visibility, what more could you ask for? Calm air? Have fun!

  3. Pat, I was pleased to meet you at the marina today after many years reading your blog. At the time I found your blog, you were fixing your first boat in New Zealand. God bless You and your family. Best wishes. Alex

    1. Hey Alex, it was nice meeting you as well. Sorry you caught us at a busy time. Let us know if you’re around again. And thanks for following us along all these years. They are really starting to add up. 🙂

  4. Pat and Ali, I have been following you off and on for years. Chicago, Keys from your first boat (cat) purchase, and it has been fun and inspirational.

Glad to see you are moving on to another floating home. My wife and I just purchased a home in S Augustine and by chance I looked at your site again and saw you were nearby. Enjoy, loved the pictures of the old fort and keep on cruising.
