An uneventful night, which for us is always a good thing. Calm seas, no wind, and the kids slept all night. The only boat problem was the navigation lights crapping out on us after about three hours of use. I’m going to have to rewire all of those from start to finish in order to fix that once and for all.
We cruised in to Bahia de los Muertos, the Bay of the Dead, early afternoon, and joined about six other boats for what should be a nice quiet anchorage for a couple of days.
After lunner on the boat we headed to shore. It’s amazing to be cruising with Lowe now at this age. I remember last year when he was just a young crawler and beginning walker and now he’s tearing around at full speed all the time, climbing rocks, trying to jump off of anything, and exploring everything in sight. It’s a huge step up in the fun department and really has us looking forward to this season up here in the Sea.
Ouest took this last picture. I didn’t expect that she’d actually time it right and frame it so well. Bravo Ouest.

Glad to hear that you’re moving along with no drama! That last pic that Ouest took was perfect … isn’t it amazing how kids learn such things at an early age?!
It’s funny, we tell her to take her time and she really does. She takes the pic and we look at it and I think she gets a kick out of the surprise in of our voices when we see that she actually did get the picture that she wanted.
You’re back in Baja? We’re in Baja, albeit a couple hundred miles north of you right now. Could it be that after 2-1/2 years we’re actually going to meet up again? Looking forward to it.

Nice. Looking forward to it. Now let’s not somehow screw it up and pass each other on different sides of an island or something.
Yay, Ouest, you go girl! Careful with those frisbees. When my youngest was 4 I accidentally hit him in the face with a frisbee and chipped his tooth. His face went from a big smile to crying and wailing, “But I didn’t want you to break my tooth!” Now, whenever he gets the chance his brother brings it up: “Remember when Mom broke Mark’s tooth with the frisbee?” With strangers too. It’s great.
Pretty soon you will be adding a new book, Photos by Ouest – View of Sailing Through the Camera of a Child! Great job Ouest. She is getting to be a good photographer!
Yeah, she really likes to take pictures now. She’s constantly asking to take them. Now we’re trying to figure out the best camera to get her.
There is a Nikon point and shoot that I really like. It is waterproof and shockproof. You can take underwater pictures as well as great land pictures. It is on my list to add to my arsenal of cameras. My sister has the camera and her results are wonderful.
Any seasickness for Ouest this time around?
Nope. All good this time. We’re giving her children’s liquid Dramamine now and it seems to really do the trick. It’s easier for us to give it to her as prescribed since it tastes so good. She literally licks the little cup clean. And of course this passage was super smooth sailing as well.
Fantastic!!!
Found your blog through one of the Tiny House blogs. I enjoy reading and viewing your pictures…they really do speak a thousand words. Ouest is doing great with the camera. Our children are truly blessings. I am in grandmother mode now…double pleasure…I am reminded of our daughter and her childhood each time I see our granddaughter. Enjoy every precious moment. 🙂
Have a blessed day!
By the way…you must go through a lot of sunscreen! 🙂
The title for Ouest’s first book should be:
Bumfuzzle: Just Out Looking For Photos
😉
Best,
