We left Grammy’s house, and thanks to the magic of air travel, we arrived in Minnesota just twenty-four hours later. Yeah, an “odor” on our plane left us stranded in Phoenix for about as long as it would have taken to drive to Minnesota instead. Honestly, flying is the worst.
Anyway, we arrived in MN late one night, and were off to the Washington County Fair by the next morning with aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. A wristband for unlimited rides cures all ills. Corn Dogs, lemonade, and miscellaneous treats dipped in miscellaneous other treats.
Lazy Minnesota summer days on the way.

Great photos! It must be a bit surreal for you, popping back into American life for a state fair quickie.
Classic Americana fun! Wonderful photos
Your fair pictures are great. I can hear the sounds and smell the smells, and it’s been at least 50 years since I’ve been to a state fair. Thanks for the memories.
Awesome. This was our local county fair just down the road from us. They were celebrating 150 years!
88 days of summer! Goodonyas!
Love the pics! I’ve been following you guys since Bumfuzzle had two hulls and we’re now on one hull in NZ after seven years afloat with our family. I’m originally from Indiana but spent many a summer in MN. County and state fairs are some of my fondest memories. Thanks for sharing, it’s so good to see some fun pics of normal Midwestern summer things (fairs and lakes). Makes me miss the midwest!
Agree, love taking the kids to all my fond Midwest memory places from my youth. Such simple fun.
WOW! No masks! Delightful to see full faces! Here in New Mexico masks are mandatory whether or not you’re vaccinated & even when walking outside! I loved the photos & most of all the normalcy-go Midwesterners!
I can’t believe how big our kids are getting. It seems like yesterday they were still babies.
Have not been to a fair in decades. The background of the REMIX II ride is risque.
I love the look on Lowe’s face when there is a hand reaching for his ice cream, ‘I don’t think so!’
That was my hand! Seriously one bite, NOPE!
Side note: he didn’t even finish it all.
