Clean Up

Typical marina day. Wash the boat, take Ouest out on her bike, explore the neighborhood. Not much going on really. We slept soundly thanks to the still boat. I noticed that a lot of boats in this marina are bobbing in their slips with one, maybe two, small fenders hanging off the sides. Amazing. After the constant surge of Paradise, the broken fenders, the chafed dock lines, it’s weird to be in a place so calm. Anyway, we needed a day of rest and we got it. We’ll spend a few more days hanging out around town, working on a couple of boat projects, and watching for a weather window to cross to Baja, about two hundred miles away.

When Lowe is napping in the aft cabin this is the way Ouest gets in and out of the house, through the forward cabin hatch. The reason is because the girl’s nickname could be Bigfoot. She weighs about thirty pounds but stomps around as if she were ten times that. Her coming down the stairs right above Lowe’s head is as good as an alarm clock.
