After nearly a month over in Frederiksted we raised the anchor to move a couple hours around to the north side of St. Croix and visit Christiansted.
We tend to shy away from crowds.
Pilot boats have their work cut out for them here.
We don’t often get to anchor behind a reef. It’s always cool when we do, watching the ocean break hard on the reef and then trickle on over to us.
Whenever you don’t know where Lowe is these days, just look up.
Sunrise, a coffee, then rain.

Do the boats still do “direct discharge” of the poopchutes into the water? I recall someone telling me when renting a charter that was the rule-all shit overboard-YUCKIE! Best to avoid crowded anchorages for sure in that case….
Love the pix! Keep on having fun-an inspirational life! 🙂
Yup. While our boat (anchored next to Bumfuzzle) and hopefully most others use our holding tank while in the harbor and then dump when in open waters outside the bay, Not only do most local boats (and charter boats) discharge overboard but the combined sewers in most of these towns dump straight into the water quite often as well, here in Christiansted you can see and smell it flowing into the harbor under the boardwalk some days. This might technically be the USA, but sewage systems in the Caribbean are far behind what you would expect in more developed countries.
