We were going to eat today at a little place right across the street from the cathedral’s front doors when a crowd suddenly came pouring out and a band standing in the street started playing some rocking music. It took a minute to realize that the people coming out weren’t smiling, and that many of them were crying. It was a funeral. So different from the somber black suits back home, this was a celebration of life.
Ouest has been taking an interest in all things anatomical lately. She has also begun the process of trying to embarrass her parents. At the playground today with Ali she announced, “Mama has grande boobs!” The great thing about this is that she knows she is teasing her. She’d just repeat it over and over laughing the whole time. Ali told her in her fake stern voice, “If you say that again we’re going home.” So she promptly yelled it out again in a squeal.
For the record, Lowe’s latest mangled face is courtesy of Ali, not me.
Ouest started trying to swim underwater. She goes under paddles a few times quickly and then comes popping back up with a big smile on her face. She rocks the pool.
Another couple days and we’ll have a whole lot of grayish brown Play-Doh.
