I hooked up the refrigerator compressor today, started the engine, and flipped the power switch with fingers crossed. No good. The grinding noise continues. Meaning, I guess, that the damage is internal. Very disappointing as at this point I really have no idea what this means. As in, can it be repaired? By who? Or does it need replacing? From where? How much? How long? Almost makes me wish this entire system wouldn’t have worked so I would have just sprung for the 12V system right from the get-go.

Anyway, here is a quick video I shot of it today. Obviously the engine is idling in the beginning, then I reach back and turn on the refrigerator switch, you hear the noise, then I reach back and turn it off. The problem sounds the same at idle or high RPMs. So if anybody out there knows what the issue is and how to resolve it I am all ears.
