Today we moved all of our crap back on to the boat. Just our crap, not us. We’re off to Portland, Oregon for the month, then to Minnesota the month after that. It’s the big grandparent’s tour.
Not counting the few hours Lowe spent being dragged across the border in Tijuana, this will be his first trip to the States. He doesn’t seem impressed. Ouest is very excited though. There have been many promises of fun to be had these next couple months and she isn’t forgetting a single one of them.
As a warm up to the big trip Ouest and I went shoe shopping today. For me. I haven’t bought a pair of non-flip-flops in about four years now, so this was a big deal. Shoes with toes. When I wear them I feel like I am trying to be somebody I’m not.
In the past when we’ve been planning a trip back to the States there has always been something that the two of us were craving badly. Be it food of some sort, or a shopping trip to such and such store. But this time there really isn’t anything. I’m not missing anything from back home, save for family of course. Better throw that caveat in there or our free room and board might just be revoked before we even touch down.
