After waking up to snow at the Grand Canyon we decided to head south a few hours early. We were spending the night in Phoenix before an early morning flight the next day, anyway, so we drove down and warmed up a bit on the way. Once there we dropped off our luggage and headed down the street for the Arizona State Fair.
I don’t know why it is, but Ali’s toe rings always come from fairgrounds. Apparently, if you are going to specialize in toe and thumb rings, state fairs are the place to set up shop.
Ouest has graduated to the scariest and “spinniest” rides, which leaves her flying solo a lot of the time.
Is it any surprise that we’d visit a taco stand four times in one night? Not growing up in the States has left a gap in my kids’ corn dog taste buds. Lowe got to the point that he felt bad asking me for still more carne asada tacos. Fortunately, Alicia’s offered good loan rates, so I can pay the tacos off over three years.
Sorry, Ouest, not a chance I’m getting on that thing.
It was no Minnesota State Fair—not by a long shot—but it was a fun night out, and a great way to wind up our whirlwind visit to Arizona.

Fabulous photographs.
Wonderful colors!
Makes me want to visit our fair at nighttime. Next year! Fantastic pics as always!
Hmmmm…. one wonders how you will stow enough food during a long passage for a growing boy! Fantastic photos. Again.
