We’ve fallen into a routine around here. Pool by ten, lunch at the pool bar a little after noon, back to our respective beds for late afternoon naps, and out to a restaurant for dinner. Hard to beat that.
Boat Toys
Gifts were delivered today. I got a new compressor. Wait, I paid for that. So I actually got nothing. Ouest and Lowe got a few things though, which set Ouest’s six-year-old friend ablaze. “Ouest has like a zillion toys. What, another ball, how many balls does she have?” It cracks … Read More
Grandpa Schulte
Grandpa is here. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my dad and Ouest hasn’t seen him since she had just started walking, so now that she’s potty trained it seemed like a good time to get reacquainted. He and his wife lugged down that big compressor/pipe bomb for … Read More
Conversations With Cruisers
Back aboard to normal life. Feels good having us all back in our little home tripping over each other and tiptoeing around during all the different nap times throughout the day. Today Ouest was taking pictures with her little pretend camera while Ali jumped up and down for her. Then … Read More
Work. Work. Work.
Day three of condo living and I’ve managed to spend more time on the boat than ever. So much time in fact that I haven’t had a condo shower or a shave all the while. I’ve managed a couple of swims which is basically the same thing as a shower … Read More
Getting It Done
Last night was Ouest’s first night in a real bed. Not that she doesn’t have a full size bed on the boat, but there she has the lee cloth to keep her in. Here we just threw the mattress in a corner and pushed the dresser up against the side … Read More
No Kids = Boat Work
Work commences. We moved the whole crew off the boat and into a condo this morning, leaving me to get a long list of work done. And today was a success. Eight hours of work with tools all over the floor, engine lids left wide open, water shut off all … Read More
Lolo Faces
I’ve decided to just leave the toilet in the cockpit and dump it overboard when full. Babies. It sometimes feels like all they do is sprout teeth. Painfully. These are the many faces of Lowe as number four drives him nuts. In the last pic you can see the little … Read More
Agua Stink
Ouest and I took the bus to town today to visit the marine store. Basically what I do there, according to Ali, is buy stuff for projects that never get started, much less finished. And while there is some truth to that I’m determined to finish this project. If for … Read More
Another Day
Just another day spent entirely within three hundred yards of the boat. Ouest has started to put letters together with certain words. Points to L, says, “Lowe.” M, “Mama.” P, “Papa.” B, “Boat.” D, “Dog” O, “Me.” She has also randomly started doing somersaults. Perfect straight over the head somersaults. … Read More
